Billy Dee Williams, who played Lando Calrissian, has been independently confirmed to be attending Star Wars Weekend for Weekend 3, June 4-6 according to his celebrity management company.
Billy Dee Williams last appeared at Star Wars Weekend in 2003.
I've looked and looked at the logo for this year's Star Wars Weekends. As we reported here several months ago, the logo depicts Boba Fett, jet pack firing, shooting his arm mounted blaster at Mickey, dressed as pre-Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker. Mickey, using his blue lightsaber, is deflecting Boba Fett's blaster fire. In my best Comic Book Guy voice I have this to say, "Worst SWW Logo Ever."
Okay, maybe that is a bit much. I suppose I am in the minority of people who doesn't find the Boba Fett character all that appealing. There is no doubt, he has some cool armor. It has a missile launcher attached to it, it makes Boba Fett fly (or falling with style?), and can shoot an ineffective cable from it to ensnare his enemies. Neat.Read more
So the new logo is out and there can be no doubt that while Star Wars Weekends will have a strong Clone Wars presence there is an eye on celebrating the 30 year anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. If you were to poll long time Star Wars fans on which movie was their favorite of the entire saga, Empire traditionally comes out on top. So this years theme coupled with Lucas’s own Celebration V event later this year should get Star Wars fans excited.Read more
The official logo for 2010 Star Wars Weekend has been confirmed. We showed you a leaked copy of the logo back in December but today it was made official.

A possible 2010 Star Wars Weekend logo has been leaked, featuring Mickey Mouse and Bobba Fett. Evidently the theme for Star Wars Weekends 2010 will be "bounty hunters" and this logo certainly evokes that. Word is that this logo we see is in line for consideration and may be tweaked slightly, but more than likely will be the logo we see.
The dates for Star Wars Weekend 2010 are now available. Star Wars Weekends 2010 will run Friday, Saturday and Sundays between May 21 and June 13.
May 21-23
May 28-30

Well, Star Wars Weekends 2009 is officially in the books. I won't go into my thoughts about the quality of this year's event here, as we have others way more qualified than I am on staff to wrap things up for the SWW website. But I did want to say that I enjoyed frequenting this site for SWW info, and it was a pleasure to contribute when I had little tidbits to share. I hope I'll have the opportunity to do so again next year as well.Read more
