An Open Letter and a Good-Bye

Well, Star Wars Weekends 2009 is officially in the books.  I won't go into  my thoughts about the quality of this year's event here, as we have others way more qualified than I am on staff to wrap things up for the SWW website.  But I did want to say that I enjoyed frequenting this site for SWW info, and it was a pleasure to contribute when I had little tidbits to share.  I hope I'll have the opportunity to do so again next year as well.Read more

Steve Sansweet to attend weekend three

Steve Sansweet

Steve Sansweet, head of Fan Relations of Lucasfilm, will be attending Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Weekend 3 (June 5-7).  Sansweet attended last year and was a big hit. Steve will be at Wicket's Warehouse where he'll be signing copies of his last two books, The Star Wars Vault and The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. The books will be available for sale at the store, and Steve will be bringing along some cool give-aways.

Steve's schedule is:
Friday, June 5: 12:30 to 2:30 PM
Saturday, June 6: 1:30 to 3:30 PM
Sunday, June 7: 12:30 to 2:30 PM

Weekend 3 Building into something special

Steve Sansweet

The news today that Steve Sansweet, head of Lucasfilm fan relations, curator of Rancho Obi-wan and Author of both The Star Wars Vault and the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia would be joining the celebrities attending Star Wars Weekends #3 has only solidified this as one of the better weekends for this year.  While weekend #1 is still tough to top for me, this falls as a very close second with Prowse, Bulloch, Sansweet, Matt Lanter, Jay Laga'aia  and Ashley Eckstein. Read more

Two Weekends Down... Two to go!

David Prowse signing an autograph

With Star Wars Weekends 2009 in full swing, we have reached the mid way point of the event.  So far so good.  While the weather appears to have improved as of the 2nd weekend, weekend #1 still stands out as the early winner with Ray Park's Trip to the Maul being one of the best "extras".  Couple that with Studios Centrals 2nd Dinner Event, which included suprise guest Warwick Davis and even the Monsoon rains we experienced were no problem to deal with.  As a matter of fact, there was only one event that I missed due to the weather.  Due to my scheduling and the incredible rainfall (aliens were pairing off in twos and seeking out a space ship/ark for safety) I missed this years Hoopla.Read more
