Got to the park around 9:30 PM and was told I was already about 100th or so in line. Talked to some people near the front of the Billy Dee line and they told me they had been there since about 5AM Thursday morning!!!!
I tell them they are crazy, but in a good way...they tell me that the 501st is holding 30 plus spots next to them....we agree that this is wrong and try to find the person holding the spots to confront them...but nobody was there at the moment.
The 501st did this last year for Dave Prowse, one person held a spot for 50 and it bumped people who had been there all night back to standby.
I go back to my spot in line which is being held by my friends Troy and Marc and set up my chair...it's going to be a long night.
Around 4AM the Disney yellowshirts began setting up the lines. At this point I can't see the back of Billy Dee's line but most of the other lines are very short. nobody was in Ashley's line.
The yellowshirts are nice and they bring out action figures for the kids who were waiting in line. I motion to one of the yellowshirts to give a toy to the girl in the tent in front of us...she does and we all look at the toy...it's a few years old...we figure they must have these left over somewhere....
By 7AM the lines are long and I'm getting nervous that I might not get all of the autographs I want...I had some people coming this morning to get in line for me before they go to Epcot....but after a while it looks like I'm going to be ok...
This year Disney has decided that they will not start the FP lines for autographs until 8:45 to give random park goers a fair chance. This morining they waited until almost 8:55 to distribute...
I manage to get first session for Billy Dee, first session for Ray Park and second session for Dave Filioni...
The rest of the day went quickly...Billy was fantastic and Ray was great as always...The Stars of the Saga was interesting if only because we found out the Jeremy Bulloch's sister and Billy Dee had some sort of realtionship during Empire (wink wink)
Dave was great in Behind the Force with Ashely and drew a Wampa begrudingly for a kid...
Got back to my hotel because I was going to repest the process the next day....
________Sat
Saturday I didn't get to the park until 6:00AM...the Billy Dee line was to the Echo Lake dock and around....I ask the Disney worker when you begin to tell people there is no hope...she said she has but they stay...I say they are crazy!
It's ok because I only want Dave Filoni today...I bring him a blank watercolor board and ask him to draw something for me....
ok so here is the Dave Fioni story...
My friend and I recently got the Clone Wars Blu-Ray for season 1. When we were going through it we saw this little mark that said Plo Kool...wondering what it was we discovered that it was Dave's stamp of approvel for the show...
so last weekend I mentioned to Matthew Wood that he should tell Dave to bring that stamp to SWW and use it on his autographs...
So when I mention that to Dave he gets very excited and tells me that Matt told him this during the week while they were mixing some sound. Dave says he's working on a stamp to use at Celebration because he thought it was such a good idea!!
The he does a full body sketch of Plo Koon for me which looks awesome!!!
Great Weekend look forward to next!!!
