2010 Weekend 3 - Darth Pizza

Hello all, I arrived to the park at 4:30 Friday morning after a 7 hour drive from South Carolina.  The line was past the baggage check, but there were still people spread out and sleeping.  By 7:30 everyone was up and milling around.  The line was back to the lake and I was closer to the baggage check.  Once they started handing out FP's I ended up with 3rd session for Billy D, and standby's for Ashley (#7) and Dave (#17).

This was my third SWW but I had never been to any of the shows due to having non-Star Wars folks with me.  This time I was lone wolfing it so I went to the early Behind the Force show.  Dave and Ashley were really good.  Dave drew a Wampa for a kid in the front and the new trailer for Season 3 of The Clone Wars looks awesome.

I rushed out of there to grab a spot for the parade.  I was across from the Backlot Express and could see fairly decently. It was definately crowded so people with small children should get there early to claim a good spot.  After the parade and lunch I got in line for the Stars of the Sage show.  This was also a very good show with Ray Park jumping over couches and Billy D. talking about Jeremy Bulloch's sister!  Another plus is that these shows are in the A/C which helps on a HOT HOT HOT day!!!

After the SotS I had some downtime so I took in some character greetings and messed with Aurra Sing a little before it was finally my time with Billy D. himself.  They moved him into the Sounds Dangerous area for his signings.  He was very talkative and thanked everyone who came through the line.

I decided I would hang around and see if I could get Dave and Ashley's autograph.  I ended up getting Dave's fairly easily. He was nice to talk to and cracked jokes the whole time.  I went back to Ashley's booth to see if I could get her on standby as well.  There were about 15 standby's at her tent with 5 minutes left in her time slot and 2 gaurantees in line when a Disney CM told us Ashley would not be taking any standby's.  I got a little upset due to the fact that there weren't that many of us out there and she still had time to meet us.  As far as I know, Billy D. got through all his standbys on Friday and Ashley couldn't even take a few of us stragglers?  A little bit of a rant, but I think she needs to take the time to meet her fans, especially the ones that were there at 6:30 after a long day at the park just to say 'hi.'

Anyways, I left the park after that and hit the road.  After being awake for 31 hours it was definately worth it to meet Billy D and had a wonderful time at the shows.  Can't wait for next year!
