  • Encounter over 60 Star Wars characters from the entire saga that will be roaming the theme park, posing for pictures and signing autographs.

2009 Events Planned

  •  Padawan Mind Challenge - Kids under 12 can test their wits before the Jedi Council! Registration begins at 9:00 am and the challenge begins at noon.
  • Jedi Training Academy – Selected audience members can train with a Jedi Master, and test their skills against Darth Vader and Darth Maul.
  • Encounter over 50 Star Wars characters from the entire saga. From Darth Vader to Darth Maul and Anakin to Chewbacca, you'll find heroes and villains from throughout the galaxy.
  • Hyperspace Hoopla - Star Wars characters and Guests gather for an entertaining conclusion to each day's events. During the show there is singing, dancing, Star Wars Characters and silly Star Wars jokes. Many of the characters go into the audience during the show.  Make sure you arrive early – a good time is during the last Jedi Training Academy show. Find a spot between the stage and the restaurant next door. Once the show is finished, the ropes will be dropped and you can stand close to the stage. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to end the day!
  • Behind the Force – Get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of The Clone Wars.
  • Celebrities from Star Wars will attend each weekend and participate in:
    • Autograph Sessions
    • Legends of the Force - Celebrity motorcade
    • Stars of the Saga - Talk Show and Q&A

  • Padawan Mind Challenge - Kids under 12 can test their wits before the Jedi Council!
  • Book signing (June 7th only) - Troy Denning, author of the epic nine-book Legacy of the Force book series, will be doing a signing at 11am and 3pm.
  • Hyperspace Hoopla - Star Wars characters and Guests gather for an entertaining conclusion to each day's events.

  • Stars of the Saga – Visiting Star Wars celebrities take part in daily autograph sessions, talk show-style conversations and Hollywood-style motorcades.
  • One-of-a-Kind Collectibles – Star Wars fans will find a treasure trove of event-exclusive Star Wars memorabilia – from limited-edition Disney character figures (clad in famous Star Wars costumes), trading pins and commemorative posters to apparel, medallions, action figures and other commemorative items.
  • Legends of the Force – Star Wars characters, celebrities and more are featured in a daily motorcade which travels from the entrance of the theme park to the Star Tours attraction.
  • More than 40 Star Wars characters will be attending including Anakin Skywalker, Captain Typho, Darth Maul, Darth Sidious, Darth Vader, Ewoks, Jedi Mickey, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Queen Amidala, R2-D2, and stormtroopers! Click here for a tentative schedule

  • Jedi Training Academy -- Throughout the day, lucky youngsters will be chosen to take part in the "Jedi Training Academy," giving Jedi hopefuls the chance to learn moves with a lightsaber. Following instruction by the Jedi Master, young Padawans are challenged to test their newly acquired lightsaber skills against either Darth Vader or Darth Maul.
  • Star Wars Legends -- Visiting Star Wars celebrities take part in a talk show-style conversation inside the theme park's ABC Theatre. Guests hear directly from the actors, actresses and creative minds that have brought the popular film series to life since Star Wars debuted in 1977.
  • To Endor... and Back? -- Guests can take flight to the moon of Endor in Star Tours, an action-packed flight simulator that salutes the Star Wars series. Synchronizing a stunning film with the virtually limitless gyrations of the simulator, the attraction takes guests on a hair-raising, light-speed trip aboard a careening star speeder. The rookie droid pilot tries his best to get the ship back to port while dodging comets and Imperial Tie Fighters.
  • Who Wants to be a Jedi? -- Special editions of the popular game show attraction "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire-Play It!" will be presented, with Star Wars-inspired questions and surprise appearances by film characters. The attraction's studio audience can join in the fun by answering trivia questions using keypads installed at their seats. Younger fans can also take part in the Padawan Mind Challenge, a trivia contest geared for children under age 12.
  • One-of-a-Kind Collectibles -- Star Wars collectors will find a treasure trove of special-edition merchandise each weekend. Once again, Disney and Lucasfilm Ltd. have created event-exclusive Star Wars memorabilia -- from trading pins and commemorative posters to apparel, medallions and other limited-edition items -- that will be available in Tatooine Traders. The themed retail location is adjacent to the Ewok Village set at the Star Tours attraction.

Even Mickey Mouse gets into the Star Wars spirit, posing for pictures in his very own Jedi costume.
  • Who Wants to be a Jedi? -- Special editions of the popular game show attraction "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire-Play It!" will be presented, with a variety of Star Wars-inspired questions and surprise appearances by film characters. The attraction's studio audience can join in the fun by answering trivia questions using keypads installed at their seats. During these shows, Star Wars characters make an appearance and often people associated with the movie (actors, etc.) will also be introduced briefly. The regular theme music is replaced with Star Wars music and all of the trivia questions relate to the Star Wars saga in some way.
  • One-of-a-Kind Collectibles -- Star Wars collectors will find a treasure trove of special-edition merchandise each weekend. Once again, Disney and Lucasfilm Ltd. have created event-exclusive Star Wars memorabilia -- from trading pins and commemorative posters to apparel, medallions and other limited-edition items -- that will be available in Tatooine Traders. With a look inspired by scenes in the Star Wars movies, the retail location is adjacent to the Ewok Village set at the Star Tours attraction.
  • Two Distinct Zones - Explore the Empire or the Rebellion as you make your way into the Rebel Base or take the path to the Imperial Sector.
  • An Epic Cast - See over 40 different characters from the entire Star Wars saga, including - for the first time - Anakin Skywalker and Darth Sidious.

  • Interactive, Interstellar Fun - Star Wars trivia contests and games will be held near the Star Tours attraction to test fans' film knowledge. In addition, a special Video Starcade will feature the best in Star Wars-inspired electronic games.
  • Wookiees, Jawas and Ewoks, Oh My!: You've seen them on-screen, now see them in person (or in alien, as the case may be)... characters from all five Star Wars movies, including Queen Amidala, Darth Maul, Jango Fett, Greedo and more, will roam the Disney-MGM Studios greeting guests, signing autographs and posing for photographs.
  • A Galaxy of Collectibles -- Disney and Lucasfilm Ltd. have created event-exclusive Star Wars merchandise -- from trading pins (including a special boxed set) and commemorative posters to apparel, medallions and other limited-edition items -- that will be available in Tatooine Traders. 2003 Events Planned:

  • Actors and voice performers from the films are scheduled to appear in daily star conversations and Hollywood-style motorcades.
  • Character Meet & Greets - Almost 20 unique characters will pose for photographs.
  • As the sun gives way to the stars each evening, the excitement rises with a Cantina Street Party from 5 p.m. to park closing.
  • Walt Disney World guests also have the opportunity to get acquainted with the actors 'behind the masks' of many favorite Star Wars characters.
  • Behind the Force: The Saga Continues - A LucasFilm behind-the-scenes look into the making of the Star Wars Saga.
  • Interactive, Interstellar Fun - Star Wars
  • trivia contests and games will beheld near the Star Tours attraction to test fans' film knowledge. In addition, a special Video Starcade will feature the best in Star Wars-inspired electronic games.

  • The 501st fan Storm Trooper division will be appearing either the first weekend or last weekend. Events may include them escorting guests around the park and being at the parking plazas.
  • Breakfast with Boba Fett and Chewbacca(weekend of June 6-8): Star Wars fan club members can register for breakfast with Jeremy Bulloch and Peter Mayhew (Boba and Chewy). Tickets are $49.95 each and for that, you get breakfast, one autograph from both Jeremy and Peter and a chance to ride in the parade (only two will be chosen).No waiting in line for those signatures! You must be a fan club member to register and tickets are limited. Also, you are only allowed two tickets and one has to be a fan club member(for more information, click here).

Hours:
Registration -- 9am-11am
Ride-a-thon -- Begins at 11 am. Last riders may enter no later than 5:30 pm
Participants -- Limited to first 100 people to register

 

 

1. For safety and comfort, you should be in good health and free from heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure.

2. Expectant mothers should not ride.

3. Young children should be accompanied by an adult.

4. You must be at least 40" tall to ride.

5. You must complete all registration requirements to participate in the "Ride-a-thon":
- Read and sign waiver
- Put wristband on at time of registration

6. Your wristband must be worn at all times and is not transferable.

7. You must enter and exit the Star Tours Attraction without causing injury to another person.

8. You must exit the attraction after each ride and re-enter at the designated entrance.

9. No running is allowed.

10. One credit only is received for each ride. It is your responsibility to verify with the Cast Member scanning the Ride-a-Thon wristbands that your ride has been registered accurately.

11. Failure to follow any of the rules listed above will result in disqualification.

12. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the Star Wars Cantina Party at 6 pm. You must be present and wearing your wristband to claim your prize.

13. First Prize includes: Black Mickey bag, Star Wars Weekends T-Shirt, Star Wars Weekends Poster, Star Wars Weekends Logo Pin, What's What Episode 1 Book, Who's Who Episode 1 Book, Star Wars Monopoly, Star Wars Character Pins, and Two Parkhopper Tickets.

14. Second Prize includes: Mickey "Shorts" bag, Star Wars Weekends T-Shirt, Star Wars Weekends Poster, Star Wars Weekends Logo Pin/Current Weekend Pin/ What's What Episode I Book, Who's Who Episode I Book.

15. Third Prize includes: Disney 2000 Back Pack, Star Wars Weekends T-Shirt, Star Wars Weekends Poster, Star Wars Weekends Logo Pin/Current Weekend Pin.

16. There will be one (1) first prize, one (1) second prize, and (1) third prize awarded each day. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker "competition" will be held at the Cantina Party to determine the final winners.
