Weekend 1 - el_strategista

Luckily our trip allowed us to be present during the first two weekends of SWW. We did not get to the parks early enough to get fastpasses for autographs, but we did hang out around the "Star Pods" and take candid shots of the Boba Fetts signing autographs for those in line.

We love SWW because of the stormtroopers and clones that wander the park and bring a completely different feel to the place. I bought some of the special pins. After we braved the stand-by line for Star Tours and rode it. It was a very special event because my 4 year old daughter was tall enough this year to ride with us as a family. No more child swapping. She loved seeing C3PO and R2D2 working on the speeder. Of course she loved Rex and the ride.

The best part was when we returned to ride it again that evening after the crowds had dissipated. If you don't realize the power of Disney story telling, read closely. While watching the pre-board video, my daughter told me not to worry. I replied that I wasn't worried and asked if she was scared to ride. Of course not she said. Don't worry Dad. This is my second ride, just like Rex the droid. Since it is Rex's second time flying the space ship, we will be OK. I didn't have the heart to spoil the magic and assured her that Rex was a great pilot, no matter if it was his first flight like when he took her to space or if it is his twentieth flight.

How can you top that!!

I will send my pictures to Quickgold for posting.

On Sunday night, we were honored to attend quickgold's special dinner event. He did an amazing job and the food was excellent. I hadn't been in that room since college and the memories came flooding back. Naturally, I didn't do that well in the SW trivia game and missed the question related to Episode One. Let's face it. I am a product of Eps IV through VI. Thanks again for thinking about the coloring books for the little ones. My daughter was entertained and had a great time. My son met some of the other younglings and made new friends. Most of all he met his favorite podcaster in quickgold and for the rest of the trip made sure that no one was talking in the car so he could listen to WDW Today.
