This was our second year attending Star Wars weekends and once again all three of my kids - oops, I mean my two sons, ages 8 and 10 and my husband all enjoyed it!
Some changes from last year - there is a new "Jedi" running the training academy, but it's the same routine as last year. Our kids were not picked this year :( The good side is they did get in the parade!
Hyperspace Hoopla was GREAT this year and is a must see (this year it's an 80's theme dance off...be sure to come early to get a good spot if you want to video tape it.)
If you want autographs with the characters try at 4pm - it's cooler out and the lines are shorter. Darth Maul's was the shorter line, probably because he is the farthest from the Star Wars ride. Tickets for autographs from the celebrities go fast in the morning - people started lining up to get in the park at 3am...we lucked out and someone gave us 2 tickets for Peter Mayhew while we were in line to get pictures with Anakin - thank you whoever you were, may the Force be with you!!!
If you want to do the "build your own lightsaber" skip the LONG line at Hollywood Studios and go to Downtown Disney to Once Upon a Toy - there is no line and the castmembers were great helping our kids. It is worth the $20 - they included batteries, could make a double one like Darth Maul and got to pick out a Sith or Jedi pin (all included!)
We'll be back next near - until then, may the Force be with you!!!
