Weekend 2 -Yulady

Arrived at DHS around 5:30am, my son got in line for Peter Mayhew and my daughter and I got in line for Matthew Wood. This early wake up wasn't really necesary. People that got to the park around 8 still got a FP for Peter. Matthew Wood was a different story, they were only giving 45 FP per session for him, at first I didn't understand why but then I got it. Got first session for Peter and we lined up to meet him, he looked very tired and not chatty at all. Still he smiled at my son and asked what he wanted signed, posed for pics. now Peter was very fast with everyone, I would say around 2 meets per min. Matthew on the other hand stayed and talked with my kids, my daughter asked him a couple of questions and he answered them, took time looking at the items he was signing and comenting about them, so that's why they only scheduled 45 FP per session; he is really a terrific guy, so down to earth and friendly. Saw the Q&A and the stormtroopers pre-show is so funny, it's a must see in my book, when one stormtrooper asked the other: "How do you know who are our enemies?" the other stormtrooper response: "Whoever is not in white or black that's who I shoot at" funny stuff, met more characters this weekend, Jango, Bobba, Aurra, Zam, The Jedi Counsel, Rex, Tuscan Raiders, Darth Maul. Best place to beat the heat, as you enter the soundstage where Wicket's Warehouse is, there's a large area of empty space, the kids ran around a while, playing, nice A/C there's also the Han Solo carbonite statue there. My son got picked to do one of the voices during the CLone Wars show, so got a cool pic of him with Ashley and Matthew. Also early in the morning someone told Jay Laga'aia that it was Linda Skywalker's birthday, he came out around 7:30am to the front of the park and sang happy birthday to her, gave her a gift, also he aknowledged her in the Q&A show saying that it's because of fans like her that make all of it possible. Didn't watch the hoopla but we'll get to it next weekend, now to recharge our batteries for our very early wake up call for Mr. Prowse.

I have two words about weekend 2: Matthew Woods. WHat a great guy, they were only giving out 45 FP per session for him, and I wondered why, and I got my answer when we met him. He spent about 5 min talking with the kids, answering their questions, looking at my sons SW flip book. WHat a great guy, very down to earth. We got there at 5:30 am, got first session for Peter Mayhew and 2nd for Matthew Wood. Mr. Mayhew didn't look that great, he looked very tired, still he signed everything lightning fast, I think his line is the fastest one I've seen, didn't really interact with the kids, but still was friendly and posed for the pics. Spend a little more time this weekend in getting characters pics. Got everyone on the Dark Side except for Darth Vader, you have to hit his line at 9am or else you're in for a long time waiting. Also got pics with Rex and Shaak Tii and Master Windu. The stormtroopers preshow, before the Q&A session is hilarious this year. DIdn't stay for the Hoopla, we'll try and catch it again maybe this weekend. My son did get picked during the Behind the Force show to do the voice of one of the clones, got a great photo of him with Ashley and Matthew. Alright, getting everything ready for weekend 3.
