If you want your child in the parade, go near the Star Wars Weekend Information Desk at around 10am , and look for a Disney employee handing out wristbands for the parade. If you don't immediately spot this Cast Member, ask one of the Cast Members at the desk.
Autographs for Star Wars Weekend celebrities are handled through a FASTPASS ticket system. Guests can get a ticket for a specific time to come and get an autograph from the celebrity. Your FASTPASS is obtained by inserting your park ticket into a machine and the FASTPASS will come out. FASTPASS tickets are free. At your
designated time, return to the autograph location, where you will wait on a line that will guarantee you an autograph.
Each guest must be present with his or her own admission ticket to receive a FASTPASS. You may not get tickets for other members of your party.
You must have a FASTPASS to receive an autograph. Once the FASTPASS tickets are distributed, a limited number of standby tickets will be distributed. Based on availability, you will have the chance to get one FASTPASS or one standby ticket per actor. Due to the limited number of tickets, once you have received a FASTPASS for an actor, you will not be eligible to get a standby ticket for that actor. Getting a standby ticket does NOT guarantee you will get an autograph.
The key to a successful Star Wars Weekend day is planning things out and prioritizing. Read an article we wrote about making your own "Star Wars Weekend Track".
Star Wars Weekends is a great event for kids as well as adults. We've compiled some tips in an article about how to involve the kids for you to read.
You should wear light & comfortable clothing that will allow you to be comfortable under a hot Florida sun. Dressing up in a costume is fun and many guests opt to do this, but keep in mind the amount of heat and humidity in Florida during that time of year when choosing to dress up or not as well as selecting your costume.
Disney will be using FASTPASS for autographs. The machines will open at 9am, even for hotel guests. Even so, you want to get near the front of the line for park opening. Plan on getting there about 45-60 minutes before park opening.
Well, most of the people that attend Star Wars Weekends for the first time usually
come unprepared. The rest of us know better. Or if you're a veteran, you might also need a checklist of what to bring. After all, the excitement will surely make you forget something crucial to make your experience awesome.
Whether you're a veteran or a newcomer, here are the basic supplies you'll need:
Lots and lots
of Money!. Disney is a VERY expensive place! The tickets themselves are $50+ and souvenirs range anywhere from $10 to $40 or even $50. The food is also expensive, so make sure to be well prepared if you will be there all day! Plus, don't forget to stock up on SWW collectibles!Bring Lots
of film (or better yet, a digital camera). Trust us, you will need it. There are so many things you'll want to take pics of: the posters, the characters, the shows, everything! We even took pictures of the sidewalks!A big expensive Star Wars poster or something of that sort to get signed by the stars!
Sunscreen (you don't have to bring it, just put it on!) I don't know how many times I've gotten a killer sunburn by just walking around Disney...especially at that time of year.
Sunglasses. It's a pain in the butt when you're out there in the sun having to block it with your hands...
A videocamera. If you want to remember your experience... It's better than a
camera, yet bulkier.Tissues and an inhaler... if you're an insane Star Wars fan, you'll probably start hyperventilating and crying when you meet your favorite Stars...
If you're doing the trivia contests, take your star wars trivial pursuit cards. They help you prepare while you're waiting in line!
A watch! A must if you want to see all the shows! Make sure to plan ahead (while you're in line, etc.)
For the next
two tips- it is much easier if you buy at the park, yet if you wish to save $:Bring water. The water there is like $5 a bottle so bring your own and save some bucks to get a stuffed ewok.
Take some snacks for while you're waiting in line.
