This weekend is going to be a great one if you are a fan of the new Television series –The Clone Wars. David Filoni, the Supervising Director of the show & movie who came to SWW in 2008 returns a year later and could be in position to reveal what viewers will see in the next season of the series. Everyone who met Dave last year liked his enthusiasm. He is dedicated to keeping the Star Wars form of story telling and character development alive while also pushing this new animated medium. Again, I personally like hearing from people involved with the production of movies and shows, so if you are a fan of the Stuidos Production end of things, this will be very enjoyable for you. If you are not a fan of the new things or haven’t taken the time to see it, this is not going to be the celeb you were looking for. Enter Temuera Morrison, who’s physical presence is all over Episodes II & III. Morrison is best known as Jango Fett, and for all intensive purposes is every clone you see on camera. Jango was the template for all of the clones, so in the cafeteria scene of Episode II, you see a lot of Morrison… in one shot. Morrison gave the character of Jango Fett a very determined presence and immediately made the Bounty Hunter father of Boba a force to be reckoned with. Beyond the movies, Morrison’s voice has been used for a number of the popular Star Wars video games including Battlefronts, Battlefronts II, Bounty Hunter (I loved Bounty Hunter!) and Empire at War. His is a face you children will recognize and his voice is unmistakable. Quietly, he is one of the better guests on this years list and one you should make a point of meeting if you have any interest at all.
Of course you will also have the Hosts to meet with each of the weekends, so there will be no shortage of people to try and speak with if you are so inclined. There is a definite shift in SWW this year as we are seeing a real move toward the Cartoon Series. There is enough original movie content to keep fans happy but you will need to clear your mind and open yourself up to the full Star Wars Universe to really enjoy everything that there is to offer this year.
