Nows the time to begin planning

Ok, if you have been on the fence, or simply considering going but haven't taken that first step, now is a good time to get started.  I noticed that for my region, the airline ticket prices dropped two times over the past week for my trip to Walt Disney World.  The return flight costs haven't reacted yet, but I'm guessing they will also come down some.  Also, the packages available for staying at Disney have come down some over just a few months ago, so I've taken the first steps to securing my position at weekend 1 this year putting out my deposits and some light scheduling.  Despite the questions I had earlier about why I should attend this year, the lure of the Star Wars World and being able to use it as an excuse to once again visit Disney World is just too much to resist.  Now I can still change my mind, but I've decided to wedge my foot firmly through the door and to begin working my way in.

Now more information is of course very welcome at this point.  I'd really like to have an idea of the celebrity schedule for this year, but right now I'm really focusing on that first weekend.  So why am I starting to make plans?  Maybe it is the dinner hosted by StudiosCentral.com/Matt.  If you haven't looked back over the notes from last year, or from the message board at StudiosCentral.com, this event was a great for both the regulars of the site and the new comers.  I believe that at the end of the evening, between the food, the games and the conversation, the dinner proved to be a fan event that inhanced the SWW experience.  Fans both young and old had a good time and a good meal.  For that reason it is high on my list of things I want to do this year.

The news over the past few weeks also keeps pulling me toward another SWW.  This week the only recent news that has caught my attention are the blurbs here and there that George Lucas has begun casting for the live action Television series, which is set to begin production this fall.  Still that is just more fuel for my SWW fire.  After all, this also means that there might be some conversation about it during weekends.  (It is quietly my belief that Daniel Logan will land a role on the series.  Hello, Rick McCallum, wouldn't the young Boba Fett fit in well here?)

There is a good chance that the pictures of the Figs helped bring this fit of planning on.  For the first time I don't have to have all of them, but I'd sure like to make sure I at least get half of them!  Maybe it was my daughter telling me the other day how much she likes participating in the Padawan Mind Challenge.  This competition of trivia knowledge between the children is a lot of fun for everyone.  Some of the questions suprise even the adults and it is impressive what the children know.  In the end, all of the participants are rewarded, so even if you child doesn't wow the crowd with their answers, they all come away feeling good about the experience.  It is very entertaining, so my daughters admission that she is looking forward to doing it again is also a gentle pull for me back to SWW.  After all, she is only young once.

My child has also helped the planning cause this year talking about the friends she has made over the past several years while attending.  Truth is the same thing has happend for me.  Each year there are familiar faces that you look forward to seeing and some new ones that give the experience some fresh energy.  Of course some of the old friends I know how to contact, and will try to poke and prod into coming down, but for the most part that is out of our control.  The good thing here is that the fans that come out for this event are as a whole excellent people.  So it is fun on any count.  Still, if I can talk a few other SWW veterans into coming out, well... the more the merrier.

If you are thinking about coming out this year, now is the time to make those plans.  Remember, you can change your mind with the reservations if something comes up.  But if you think you want to be there, you don't want to wait until it is too late.  Afterall, there are events and schedules that will be coming out soon, and we have a lot more to plan for.

Live action series

Great article Mr. Sith.  Here's hoping we get some small idea on what the live action series will be about..despite it not premiering until 2010/2011.
