Information hit on all fronts today as both Disney and StarWars.com announced the Pins for 2010 Star Wars Weekends. Kara shared the link at Disney Pins first thing this morning at: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/04/star-wars-weekends-2010-pins/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+DisneyParks+%28Disney+Parks+Blog%29
followed by the announcement at the StarWars.com site: http://www.starwars.com/vault/collecting/star_wars_weekends_pins/index.html
which we also thank Lorne for posting. And with that we have pins. I've come to appreciate these more and more each year, mostly in the beginning because of the space these take up. My obsession with the Big Figs over the past years has made space an issue. The thought and work that goes into these is well worth anyone's time though and they are a great way to commemorate your visit for Star Wars Weekends.
This year we are treated to the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. That theme works throughout this pin set as scenes from one of the most popular films of the saga are depicted here. Quickly my winners in this set at first glance are: The Han Solo in Carbonite pin, The AT-AT pin, and the Large "30" pin.
Mid level nods go to the R2-MK pin, the Han & Leia pin, the Mickey and Donald on Taun Tauns pin, the Snow Troopers pin and the Vader, Lando & Boba pin.
The others are good but not great. My least favorite of the bunch is one I want to like, the Luke vs. Vader pin. The red smoke doesn't work for me at all. Something is just not right there, which is a shame because the rest of the pin looks awesome. Boba loading Han looks too washed out, but is another important moment. I like the Empire Strikes Back 30 pin, but it just seems like a pin I would find at any Star Wars event this year and not a SWW special pin. Still, I like it enough to want it.
This at least gets things moving a little. My interest is stirred and now I'm ready for more! I'd like to know which pin is your favorite? I'm still trying to decide, but the Carbonite pin looks to be my early favorite!

this past weekend I say the 4 poster/puzzles they look very cool. Also there is a new R2D2 r/c half the size of the big one they sold in years past. And the new R2MK with Jedi Mickey are too adorable, I almost got this last one but I'm trying to save money for the weekends.
